As a photographer, I always get excited about the prospect of capturing precious moments and memories for families, couples and friends.
Recently, I had the joy of photographing a wonderful extended family from America during their vacation in Ireland. The chosen location was Fore Abbey, in the beautiful county of Westmeath, and despite the bad weather, everyone had a wonderful time.
The day started with dark clouds looming overhead, threatening to unleash their fury at any moment. This is a daily occurrence here in Ireland, the weather has a mind of it's own and it's best to just go with it!. The dramatic skies added a unique element to the photos, and the family's vibrant smiles contrasted beautifully against the grey background. Dull days always make the greens more deeper I think, resulting in stunning photographs.
Despite the jet lag and the weather, the family was in high spirits and we had great craic during the session. We explored the ruins of the ancient monastery, and the kids couldn't get enough of the amazing castle. There was so much laughter and fun as I captured the family interacting with each other and taking in the gorgeous setting.
