Creative Collaboration at Dollymount Strand – Album Artwork with an Incredible Musician

There’s nothing quite like working with fellow creatives. The energy, the flow, the shared spark—it’s an experience that’s hard to put into words, it's a buzz!

I recently had the absolute honour of collaborating with an incredibly talented musician to create imagery for his upcoming album, and honestly, it was one of those shoots that stays with you.

We met at Dollymount Strand in Dublin, right under the bright, unforgiving midday sun. The high contrast, shadow creating, edgy midday sun is not what I normally aim for, but for this shoot, it was exactly what we had in mind.

Harsh sun? Yes. Let me have it!.

I used slow shutter speeds, motion blur, direct flash, and even plastic bags over the lens to play with distortion and light leaks. It was wild and experimental—in the best possible way. He played music, floated in the sea, ran, jumped, and fell. There was plenty of real movement, but yes, there was also some posing—thoughtful, intentional moments that helped shape the visual narrative of his music. The balance between the raw and the composed gave the whole shoot this beautiful dynamic.

After the beach, we made our way to Saint Anne’s Park. it gave us a softer, more introspective backdrop that contrasted perfectly with the raw energy of the strand. It’s one of my favourite places to shoot in Dublin

Being part of this creative process—shaping album artwork in Dublin alongside an artist so open to experimentation—was such a privilege. As a musician photographer and creative photographer, these are the shoots I live for. Telling visual stories that reflect the sound, soul, and spirit of someone’s art? It’s everything.
