Hey, I'm Deirdre
I’m Deirdre, a Dublin wedding photographer, mam of three and very much a person who thrives in a bit of chaos.Having my own kids completely changed the way I see photography. Looking back at photographs of them from just a few years ago, I’m always struck by how quickly everything changes. The days are long, but the years are ridiculously short.
Photographs are the proof that we were here, that we loved each other, that these ordinary little moments actually happened. They matter.
That’s probably why I photograph weddings the way I do. I want to capture what your day actually felt like, the people you love, the ridiculous moments, the big emotions and all the stuff you didn’t even notice was happening.
Outside of photography, I’m obsessed with live music, terrible at playing instruments despite owning several, love a good glass of wine and a great conversation, and listen to far too many true crime and self-help podcasts. I also have two little dogs who are basically my other children.
I’ve met some genuinely brilliant people through photography and feel very lucky to do what I do, photographing couples and families all over Dublin and Ireland.

Ten Years of Family Photography Made Me a Better Wedding Photographer
I’ve been a family photographer for over ten years, and honestly, it’s shaped everything about how I photograph weddings.
After a decade of chasing toddlers around parks and photographing the beautiful chaos of real family life, I know what genuine happiness looks like. The real laughs, the sticky hands, the meltdowns, the madness and all those little moments nobody planned.
That’s exactly what I look for at weddings.
The flower girl losing the plot. The granda sneaking a second slice of cake. The mam crying in the corner trying to hide it. The people laughing when they’ve forgotten I’m even there.
Those are the photographs that matter.
Life is chaotic, loud and messy, and it goes by ridiculously fast. My job is to catch it while it’s happening.
So if your wedding is going to be a bit mad, full of people you love and wonderfully imperfect, I’m completely in my element.
Photography is magic!
My absolute favourite photograph in the world isn't one I took. It's a photo of my Da, my Granda, my great Granda and my great great Granda, taken in 1960.
My kids have that photo now. They will have it forever!
That's what I think about when I'm photographing your wedding. That someday, someone who hasn't been born yet will look at what I captured today and feel exactly what I feel when I look at that photo. That's not a job. That's something else entirely.
So yeah. That's why I do this!
I'll also be the one having the craic with your guests and definitely hanging around for the last song, just so you know!
