Some weddings just stay with you – and E & C’s was one of those days. Family, laughter, music, and a whole lot of love (with a side of Irish rain!) made it unforgettable.
The morning began with E getting ready at home, surrounded by family. The atmosphere was so full of excitement and love, and E’s laughter – which is absolutely contagious – had everyone smiling. It was such a gorgeous, family-orientated morning that set the tone for the rest of the day.
When she arrived at the church, the boys were already there waiting for her. The rain was absolutely lashing, but inside, the ceremony was warm, heartfelt, and beautiful. Watching E & C exchange vows with their families all around them was such a special moment.
Afterwards, the newlyweds hopped into their deadly VW (seriously, such a cool wedding car!) and made their way into the city for their reception at The Dean, Dublin. And what a venue – The Dean is one of my favourites for a Dublin wedding. It’s right in the heart of the city, full of modern, stylish details, with those iconic rooftop views that make it feel like such a vibrant, unique space. It’s perfect for couples who want something a little different and full of character.
The celebrations kicked off in style with a secret singer – and what a surprise it was. Within minutes, everyone was up dancing, and the atmosphere was electric. It set the tone for the rest of the night: fun, full of life, and completely unforgettable.
And let’s talk about the rain. It didn’t let up all day, but E & C didn’t let it dampen their spirits for a second. Instead, they embraced it. We wandered through the Dublin streets with umbrellas, and even slipped into the Iveagh Gardens for some portraits. Rain has this magic about it – the light is softer, the streets shine, and it adds such a romantic mood to the photos. Honestly, some of my favourite shots from the whole day came from leaning into that wild Irish weather.
Looking back, what shines through most about this wedding wasn’t the weather, or even the party (though both were brilliant). It was the love, the laughter, and the way family was at the heart of every moment.
As a wedding photographer in Dublin, Meath, and Cavan, these are exactly the kinds of weddings I love to capture – real, joyful, and bursting with heart. And E & C’s day had all of that in spades.
