A Branding Session in Howth Village with a Brilliant Author
Some sessions just stick with you. This one did. From the chats in her kitchen to the last laugh with seagulls swooping down from the sky, this branding shoot was pure magic.
I had the absolute pleasure of photographing a fantastic author for her personal branding shoot. We started with relaxed headshots in her home. No stiff posing. No awkward smiles. Just her, in her own space, being herself. That is always where the best photos begin.
I am a wedding photographer Dublin, but branding work has become one of my favourite parts of what I do. The same natural, honest approach I use as a family photographer Dublin and family photographer Ireland is exactly how I work with brands and creatives. Real people. Real moments. Real connection.
Headshots at Home
Shooting in her home made everything feel easy. There is something powerful about being photographed in a space that already holds your story. The light, the walls, the quiet moments between laughs. It all becomes part of the image.
For branding shoots, I do not believe in one size fits all. Every person brings a different energy, story and purpose. This session was totally unique to her. Her work. Her voice. Her way of being in the world. And that is how I always work.
My job is not to make you look like someone else. My job is to show you as you are, at your best, in a way that feels natural and honest.
Why Howth Village Is Perfect for Headshots and Family Photos
After the home session, we headed out for a walk through Howth village. And honestly, there are few places better.
Howth has everything. Gorgeous coastal light, beaches, colourful doors, old stone, quiet corners, busy harbour life, open skies. Whether I am working as a wedding photographer Dublin, family photographer Dublin or family photographer Ireland, Howth always delivers.
It works beautifully for:
Natural headshots with character
Relaxed family photos
Branding sessions with variety
Couples and engagement shoots
Wedding portraits with atmosphere
You can get ten completely different looks within a short walk. That means more choice, more variety and more images that actually feel alive.
My Natural Way of Photographing Branding Shoots
Branding shoots with me are not about stiff poses and forced smiles. They are about movement, conversation, laughter and letting things unfold.
We walk. We talk. We stop when the light feels right. We laugh when something funny happens. I guide you, but I never try to turn you into someone you are not.
Every branding shoot is unique because every person is unique. Your work, your energy, your story all shape how the session flows. This author brought such warmth, humour and openness. We laughed constantly. It honestly felt like spending time with a friend rather than “doing a shoot”.
By the end, I genuinely felt like I had made a friend. That matters. Because when you feel comfortable, your photos show it.
How My Clients Receive Their Photos
After every branding session, my clients receive:
A full gallery of the best images from the shoot
All photos carefully edited in my natural style
High resolution files for print and professional use
Web sized files for websites and social media
You end up with a full pool of images you can use again and again for your brand. Website. Instagram. Press features. Book launches. Talks. Posters. Everything.
You are not getting one “perfect” headshot. You are getting a collection of images that show different sides of you and your work.
The Seagull Moment
At the very end of the session, we got playful. We fed the seagulls by the harbour.
And then it happened.
They came from everywhere. From the sky. Wings everywhere. Feathers flashing in the light. Laughter bursting out of us.
It was wild, joyful and completely unplanned. Those moments are always my favourite. Because you cannot fake that kind of energy.
That is what made this session unforgettable. Not just the photos. The feeling of it. The laughter. The connection.
This Is How I Work
Whether I am working as a wedding photographer Dublin, family photographer Dublin, family photographer Ireland or on branding shoots like this one, my approach never changes.
I photograph people, not poses.
I create space for real moments.
I let each session become its own story.
This author’s session was hers and hers alone. No template. No copy and paste. Just her story, told through images.
If you want photos that feel like you, that show your work and your personality in a natural way, I would love to create something unique with you too.
