My Approach to Weddings as a Wedding Photographer Dublin and Wedding Photographer Ireland
I genuinely love weddings. I always have. Being a wedding photographer Dublin and a wedding photographer Ireland wide means I get a front row seat to some of the biggest, happiest and most emotional days in people’s lives. I never take that lightly. Every couple, every wedding day, every venue and every hug at the end of the night reminds me why I do this job. I am Deirdre Rusk, wedding photographer Dublin, family photographer Dublin Ireland, and 2025 was a wonderful year.
2025 was an unbelievable year for weddings in Ireland. It was busy, joyful, emotional, loud, quiet, wild and gentle all at once. I met so many amazing couples who trusted me as their wedding photographer Dublin and wedding photographer Ireland to document their day honestly and naturally.
I travelled all over Ireland, sometimes visiting the same venue again and again, and other times walking into somewhere completely new with fresh eyes and excitement. Every wedding felt different because every couple is different, and that is what makes wedding photography in Ireland so special to me.
My approach to weddings is simple. I want your photos to feel like you. As a wedding photographer Dublin, I do not want stiff posing, awkward smiles or moments that don’t feel real. I want you to look back at your wedding photos and feel the day again. The nerves in the morning. The deep breath before you walk down the aisle. The way your hands shook during the vows. The laughter during the speeches. The madness on the dancefloor. I photograph weddings in a natural, relaxed and documentary style, whether I am working as a wedding photographer Dublin or a wedding photographer Ireland in any part of the country.
I spend time getting to know my couples before their wedding day so you feel comfortable and relaxed around me. When you trust me, you forget about the camera, and that is when the real magic happens. My job as your wedding photographer Dublin is not to control your day. My job is to tell the story of it exactly as it happens.
In 2025, I was lucky enough to photograph weddings in some of the most stunning venues in Ireland. As a wedding photographer Ireland, I visited Kilkea Castle, Boyne Hill House, Clonabreany House, City Hall Dublin, Marco Pierre Donnybrook, The Fumbally Stables, The Stephens Green Club, The Johnstown Estate, The Radisson Blu, Portmarnock Resort, The Connemara Coast Hotel, The Village Barn, The Dean, Ashley Park House, The Killashee Hotel, Barberstown Castle, Orla House and Ballymagarvey Village. Some of these venues I returned to multiple times as a wedding photographer Dublin, and every single time they felt different because the people inside them were different.
From castles to city venues, barns to estates, coastal resorts to hidden gems, I saw Ireland at its best through the eyes of couples in love. Not to mention all the incredible places I went for family shoots, couples shoots, personal branding sessions and headshots throughout the year. As a family photographer Dublin Ireland, I photographed families on beaches, in forests, on city streets, in quiet fields and in back gardens full of kids and laughter.
Whether I am working as a wedding photographer Dublin or a family photographer Dublin Ireland, my focus is always on real people and real moments.
What I love most about weddings is the people. The couples who trust me as their wedding photographer Ireland. The parents holding back tears. The friends who travelled miles to be there. The grandparents who squeeze your hand and tell you how proud they are. I am constantly surrounded by love, and that is not something I will ever get used to.
Being a wedding photographer Dublin and family photographer Dublin Ireland is not just a job to me. It is a privilege. It is early mornings, sore feet, heavy cameras and full memory cards, but it is also laughter, hugs, happy tears and being welcomed into people’s lives at their most meaningful moments. I am endlessly grateful for every couple who chooses me as their wedding photographer Ireland, every family who books me as their family photographer Dublin Ireland, and every venue that welcomes me back.
2025 was an amazing year for weddings in Ireland, and I already know that what is coming next will be just as special.
